We thought this would be a great way for our friends and family (if they're interested) to keep up-to-date on what's going on with us and the goings-on at the Ranch. You can check back as often or as little as you'd like. I'll do my level best to keep it up to date!

How We Named the Black Cats of Black Cat Ranch
I think it's pretty obvious how Harley got his name; we're a Harley-Davidson family! Gwinn's name, on the other hand, took a little more thought. Since they were found as 5 week old kittens on the 4th of July, I felt Harley's twin needed a name appropriate for the day on which he was rescued. He was named after Button Gwinnett, of Georgia, the second signator of The Declaration of Independence. Names of other signators just weren't fitting enough; Ben, John, Thomas, George..! He was a unique kitty that needed an unique name!

"Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. - and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born (one cat, her kittens & their offspring can producehalf a million cats in a little more than seven years). As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. As a result, every year 4 to 6 million animals are euthanized because there are no homes for them." fromhttp://doghause.com/
